Ray and Chiara — Reiki, reconciliation and the living Earth

Chiara — from the yoga mat to the Blue Earth

Chiara began her yoga path in 1990 and graduated from the Yoga Ratna School in 2003. She taught yoga in Italy and France for many years, bringing decades of experience in education and personal inquiry. Her teaching is shaped by the understanding that every participant arrives with a different body, history and pace. The invitation is to listen rather than compare or perform.

In 2012, Chiara graduated in naturopathy from the J. Monnet Higher School in Brussels.

She encountered Reiki in 2005. Her initiating Master was Marta Getty, a deeply meaningful teacher with whom she shared daily life, long walks in the woods and conversations about Reiki, humanity, healing and reconciliation. Chiara was present as Marta’s Blue Earth practice took shape. In 2016, Marta found a small blue marble and described it as “a world that I can hold in my hands.” Discover the Blue Earth meditation.

In 2019, Marta initiated Chiara as a Reiki Master in Usui Shiki Ryoho, the classical form of Reiki passed down through Mikao Usui, Chujiro Hayashi, Hawayo Takata and Phyllis Lei Furumoto. Chiara teaches first- and second-degree Reiki courses and offers individual treatments. Her classes can be held in Italian, English and French.

Carrying the seed further

After Marta’s death in May 2020, Chiara became a guardian of this precious seed. Since 2022, she has continued the planetary practice by holding the monthly Blue Earth meditation within Reiki Home. In 2023, she became coordinator of Reiki Home’s Hearts and Hands team. She has been a member of The Reiki Alliance (TRA) since 2025 and co-founded RayChiCALLS with Raymond Brockotter in 2026.

Chiara is the author of Yoga e Danza (2006) and Chakras: Evolutionary Wheels (2024). As RayChiCALLS, she also shares this work through Reiki-related publications and events: a May 2026 webinar for the Reiki Alliance Students Association, a contribution to the September 2026 Reiki Alliance newsletter, and articles scheduled for the Winter 2026 editions of Reiki Magazine and Touch.

Ray — connected to an ongoing journey

Raymond Brockotter, known as Ray, is a Reiki Master and teacher based in Hoofddorp. His Reiki lineage passes through Mikao Usui, Chujiro Hayashi, Hawayo Takata, Phyllis Lei Furumoto, Ton Driessen, Arie Luijering and his initiating Master, Sunny Nederlof. His long-term recovery and sobriety inform a practice grounded in presence, gratitude and personal responsibility.

Ray later joined Chiara on this ongoing journey and became her partner in life and work. Together, they explore how Reiki can support presence, gratitude, reconciliation and a deeper sense of connection—with yourself, with one another and with Planet Earth. Ray brings his own lived experience and involvement, forming the Dutch anchor of their shared practice in Hoofddorp.

Tradition and openness

What characterizes Ray and Chiara is their combination of tradition and openness. They teach in the classical form of Usui Shiki Ryoho, without creating a new Reiki method or blending it with other systems. They invite students to listen rather than perform. For them, Reiki is not a technique for fixing something; it is a way of being in life.

The question is not “I know what is wrong, and I will fix it,” but how to be present, listen with humility and take responsibility without trying to control the outcome. It is a movement from rescuer to participant.

Reconciliation does not mean that differences have to disappear. It means learning to remain present with tension and difference without immediately turning another person into an enemy. A circle has no outside—and that includes people with whom we disagree deeply. Recognizing someone as part of the human whole is not the same as approving their behaviour. Boundaries and discernment remain important. The question is whether a necessary boundary in our awareness has to become absolute separation.

Practical information

Ray and Chiara teach Reiki courses in Dutch, English, Italian and French, in small groups of up to six people, in Hoofddorp or online. Those who would like to meet them are welcome at a monthly Blue Earth meditation, Reiki exchange evenings or Chiara’s online yoga classes, Yoga del Pellegrino.
